Celebrate National Children's Dental Health Month This February
Get helpful tips for helping your kids maintain a beautiful and healthy smile.
National Children’s Dental Health Month is a time dedicated to educating families about the value of practicing good dental health habits to stop tooth decay and promote a lifelong appreciation for good oral hygeine
Tooth decay, which causes cavities, is the most common chronic illness affecting children, and can be avoided with routine brushing using toothpaste made with fluoride, or fluoride treated water and dental sealants. Additionally, refrain from giving children drinks with sugar, like juices and soft drinks, encourage healthy meals including fruits and vegetables, and schedule your child to see the dentist before his or her first birthday.
For additional information and more helpful tips, as well a variety of fun downloadable activities and posters for the kids, visit the American Dental Association (ADA), and the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research.
If your child is in need of oral surgery, contact the experts at The Summit OMS to schedule your appointment. We welcome all patients, big and little.
